Janette La Bella is our beloved British import. Born in Hastings in the UK, she studied music at the Laurel’s Academy. After finishing her studies, she moved to Germany, where she auditioned for some shows with the American Military. She played Sally Bowles in Cabaret, as well at Nancy in Oliver. One of her favorite roles was Meg Brockie in Brigadoon. Her interest in group singing began with Next Monday, an a cappella group she formed. She sang with a Gospel choir in Heidelberg for seven years. In 2004, she relocated with her husband Paul to Edwards Air Force Base. She has continued her love of musical theater in SoCal, including leading parts in the Odd Couple and Noises Off. She reconnected with a cappella when she joined Swing Shift. She divides her group time with her pop/jazz quartet Just Us, which has had a successful time of it performing in the southland from Lancaster to Ventura to Malibu.
