Ryan is a Los Angeles-based freelance performer/composer who performs throughout Southern California. He received his BFA from the California Institute of the Arts in 2014, specializing in new music clarinet performance. With his passion for life-long learning and a love for music, Ryan enjoys playing other woodwind instruments, piano, singing as a jazz vocalist, and West African percussion. While trained as a western art musician, Ryan is interested in all styles of music making, especially a cappella. He also happens to be a lover of philosophy, fine arts, linguistics, and literature. In addition to Red Harmony, Ryan performs regularly with the College of the Canyons vocal jazz choirs, the Master’s College Wind Ensemble, a Brazilian choro band, the Los Angeles Clarinet Choir, and several other chamber groups.
