Mountain Blue The musicians of Mountain Blue bring a new blend of music that has been called fresh, alive, and heartfelt. The unique a cappella quartet of three men and one woman harmonizes a variety songs in the bluegrass, southern gospel tradition. Their foot-stomping renditions of songs like "Gospel Train" and "Roll Back the Stone" make it nearly impossible to sit still in your seat. Other favorites like "Abide with Me" and "Amazing Grace" with their simple but stylistic arrangements will stir your soul and evoke a spirit of peace. Mountain Blue will breathe a breath of fresh air into any music library.
For those who like to shout "Hallelujah!"
Mountain Blue was formed in the fall of 2003 when two choir conductors from Brigham Young University got together to perform a piece of southern gospel music "just to hear how it sounds." The two searched among their musically talented friends until they felt they had formed the perfect bluegrass quartet--a unique a cappella combination of three guys and a gal.

Performing?
We are always seeking groups who would like to participate
in our events.
Groups of any style are welcome, but you must have between
3 and 12 members. We have a rule book which explains many of the
details of the event, which you can see by clicking here. All groups must audition in
order to compete. Generally this is done by sending a current tape
and photo, although live auditions are sometimes arranged. The
purpose of the audition is to make sure the group is appropriate for
the Festival and to help the Director determine the performance
order. If a group has competed previously, the audition process may
be waived.
